Ticketlab alternative

The free alternative to Ticketlab

Ticketlab is free for organisers, but your buyers pay a booking fee on every ticket: a small fixed amount plus a sliding percentage that is highest on cheap tickets. Ticketable removes that fee entirely — 0% platform fee, Stripe at cost, paid into your own account.

A worked example

The sliding fee bites hardest on low-priced tickets. On a £10 ticket, 6% plus £0.20 is about £0.80 your buyer pays on top — roughly £400 across 500 tickets. With Ticketable there is no booking fee at any price, so a £10 ticket costs your buyer £10.

How can it be free?

Running a ticketing platform isn’t as expensive as the big players make out. Ticketable covers its costs through small, tasteful, non-intrusive advertising — for example a discreet sponsor logo on the printable ticket. Nothing on your event page, and nothing that interrupts your buyer. That’s the only thing subsidising the platform — so you keep every penny of your ticket revenue.

Ticketable vs Ticketlab — your questions

Is Ticketable cheaper than Ticketlab?

For your buyers, yes. Ticketlab is free to the organiser but adds 20p plus up to 6% to each ticket. Ticketable adds no booking fee at all — you only pay Stripe's processing at cost (1.5% + 20p), so the price you advertise is the price your buyer pays.

Why does the fee percentage change with ticket price?

Ticketlab uses a sliding scale — roughly 6% under £10, 5% above £10 and 4% above £30 — so cheaper tickets carry the highest percentage. That is the opposite of what most grassroots promoters want, since low-priced tickets are exactly where margins are thinnest.

Do I get paid before the event?

With Ticketable, yes. Money goes straight to your own Stripe account and Stripe pays out daily, so you have cash flow before the doors open rather than waiting for a post-event settlement.
